West Florida Hospital, The Rehabilitation Institute
Comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitative care of the neurologically impaired patient is provided by the Rehabilitation Institute. Located adjacent to West Florida Hospital, this 58-bed center consists of three distinct units: a 10-bed severe head injury unit, a 16-bed spinal cord injury unit, and a 32-bed general rehabilitation unit for patients suffering from strokes, amputations, arthritis and other neurological or orthopaedic conditions. The Rehabilitation Institute is a State-designated head and spinal cord injury rehabilitation center and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
HealthWorks
HealthWorks specializes in providing interdisciplinary evaluations and treatment for people whose ability to work is interrupted by pain or physical limitations because of back injuries, musculo-skeletal work injuries, cumulative trauma or accidents. The center's goal is to restore the patient to productive employment and improved quality of life.

West Florida Hospital coordinates home healthcare services through local home health agencies to assure continuity of care for the post-discharge neurological patient.
Our Staff
Comprehensive neurological diagnostic services and treatment programs were established at West Florida Hospital in 1977. These services have received increasing state and regional recognition, with patients referred from not only the surrounding areas, but other areas of the United States as well. Over the years, our physicians have been responsible for introducing many innovations in neurological disease treatment to Northwest Florida including the management of intracerebral hemorrhage, lumbar and cervical disc surgery, and the prevention of head and spinal cord injuries.
The Neuroscience Team includes board certified neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, neuro-ophthalmologist, sleep medicine specialists. Support personnel include specialists in orthopaedic surgery, physchiatry, gerontology, rheumatology, interventional radiology and neuropsychology.
